Lawn Mixtures

TARA GREEN PERENNIAL RYGRASS BLEND

  • Three varieties of top quality Perennial Ryegrass
  • Great for full sun areas
  • Wear tolerant & quick establishing
  • Best choice for overseeding thin lawns, or after thatching
  • Seeding rate:  6-8 lbs per 1000 sq. ft.

PREMIUM SOD SEED MIXTURE

  • 60% Perennial Ryegrass, 20% Hard Fescue, 20% Kentucky Bluegrass
  • Same mix as our premium sod
  • For full sun or moderate shade areas
  • Not suitable for overseeding
  • Seeding rate:  5-6 lbs per 1000 sq. ft.

SPECIAL SUN MIXTURE

  • 80% Perennial Ryegrass, 20% Fine Fescue
  • Excellent fine bladed mix for full sun areas
  • Great for overseeding.  Best choice for most lawns.
  • Similar to our Hydroseed mixture
  • Seeding rate:  6-8 lbs per 1000 sq. ft.

MULTI-PURPOSE SEED MIXTURE

  • 70% Perennial Ryegrass, 30% Fine Fescue
  • Full sun or partial shade, good choice for sun & shade lawns
  • Will tolerate a little more shade than our sun mix
  • Okay for overseeding
  • Seeding rate:  6-8 lbs per 1000 sq. ft.

SOD GEM TURF-TYPE TALL FESCUE

  • Wide bladed turf-type tall fescue, dark green color
  • Very wear tolerant and drought tolerant (once established)
  • Appearance is best if not mixed with other species
  • Seeding rate:  6-8 lbs per 1000 sq. ft.

SPECIAL SHADE MIXTURE

  • 60% Perennial Ryegrass, 40% Fine Fescue
  • Contains a higher amount of Fescue for shade tolerance
  • Not as wear tolerant as mixes with higher amounts of Perennial Ryegrass
  • Performs better under lower maintenance than other lawn mixes
  • Seeding rate:  5-7 lbs per 1000 sq. ft.

LOW GROW (ORCHARD) SEED MIXTURE

  • 60% Elf-Perennial Ryegrass, 30% Creeping Red Fescue, 10% Hard Fescue
  • Lower growing seed mix for areas where intensive management is optional
  • Tolerant of poorer quality soils, less water, and fertilizer (once established)
  • Popular mix with orchard growers due to lower mowing requirements
  • Seeding rate:  5 lbs per 1000 sq. ft. (220 lbs per acre)
