Sod is living plant and MUST be installed on the day of delivery.
How can I tell if my lawn is getting the right amount of water?
Most Sources will tell you to put approximately 1 inch of water a week on your lawn. 1 inch of water will penetrate 4-6 inches below the surface of the soil. Use a knife or a screwdriver and probe the soil to test for moisture. You have a sufficient water on your lawn if you can push a knife or a screwdriver 4-6 inches into the soil. Test different areas of your lawn to make sure that your irrigation system covers all areas of your lawn.
What time of day should I water my lawn?
The best time to water is early morning to reduce vaporization and evaporation. Schedule your irrigation system to come on during the period when "dew" would be expected to appear naturally on your lawn. Watering in the late evenings is strongly discouraged. Late evening water will allow your lawn to stay damp all night creating an envirionment which is perfect for fungus blights and other disease.
